Gratuitous Pets!
April 11, 2016For all the joys and wonders of Arkansas and its works, our lives are full of furry, furious, mad-house fun provided by our goofy menagerie of pets at their guests.
Above is Sir Earl Ganondorf Grey - and that's the face she made when she (and all of us) found out that "Earl" was, in fact, a girl!
In the interest of sharing some little piece of our lives here, here's just a mishmash of all our animal pals of the past year (or so)
That little fur monster isn't Jen's winter coat, it's Yoda, who we hosted for a while when his owner was out of town. He was a little bucket of pure cuddly love! Hated it whenever we weren't where he could curl up on us somewhere and pass out
This is Yoda, again, and our dear Zelda (and Jen - hi Jen!) on a quick walk in the part up the road, early last Fall.
Same walk in the park, it's nice having this so close :)
Wait - this is an animal post, I can't get off-topic. Look! Dogs!
Above is our latest addition, Navi, the fish - and some spectacular leaves collected on the above park walk.
...And this is what happens when you say "fish" within a mile of our kitchen
This is Link, the ol' curmudgeon, on a particularly cold winter night :)
This is not a pet, this is my latest Jack-o-Lantern. Still, animal picture! I was proud of this one, I'll have to see what I can whip up this year...
This is a chair we rescued from someone's curb (remains to be seen whether or not that was a good idea) with the cushion lifted. Poor Peanut, the neighborhood cat, was trying to stay warm and dry on a rainy day, but couldn't quite make that cushion work
So I fixed it :)
Peanut, you're a peach. Guess the chair was a good idea after all!
Here's Link, once again trying to prove that he isn't the curmudgeon we always say his is. Here he's telling me "Go to sleep. How I Met Your Mother can wait until tomorrow"
This is Zelda, when she first discovered her new dog bed. This photo was taken right after she got halfway through saying how terrible and cushy it was, and how she'd just never get comfortable in it!
Adorable!
Busted!!
Can't have a pet post without a little bit of holiday spirit :) Ganon did wonders for our Holiday Party this past year!
This is a snake. This is not a pet, it was found in a leaf pile. So far it seems pretty benign, but we'll watch for murderous tendencies. This one goes on the list of cool animals found in our yard, along with the bat, three turtles, and a gecko.
Zelda is incredibly smart, but she sometimes gets distracted. This is from a vacation rental in Hot Springs this past winter, she's looking at all the other toys in the yard
She's such a tiny little kitten, I hope she never grows up!!
This is Zelda with her best bud Sandy, they were like this for three days straight. I took a dozen pictures, this is the only one where they weren't blurry because they were moving too fast...
Ganon, chasing a bug - and the giant mop on my head that will soon be a whole other pet if we don't tame it soon.
Enough animal pictures! Back to Arkansas stuff!
